Return of the Mack

Meet Ashley Roebeck the muscle behind his new found hustle called Mackfitness.

Ashley’s fitness journey began when he looked at himself in a photo one day and thought to himself, “I need to get my body in shape”.

How many of us can actually relate to this statement LOL?  I know I can.

Ashley was a sportsman for many years.  So you can imagine how he felt after seeing himself in that image.  He slowly started changing his bad habits into good ones and turned his life around a complete 360 by focusing on his health and wellness.

In doing so Ashley started going to gym religiously and started eating clean. He quickly started seeing results and started getting obsessed with fitness, yes guys this does happen. Fitness has away of doing this to you when you start seeing your hard work pay off.

He started doing intense research on nutrition, supplements, different workout routines and both pre- and post-workout dos and don’ts. He soon realised that supplements can become very expensive and started doing some more research on how you can use natural foods to assist you in weight loss, recovery and muscle building.  In doing so he also stumbled upon some great foods to use as a pre-workout and quickly started using that instead.

One day Ashley came across a fitness concept known as HIIT, which stands for High Intensity Interval Training. This type of training allows you to do a range of different exercises for a specific amount of time. It normally lasts about 20 seconds to 1 minute at a time.

These exercises are done at high intensity during which you have short rest periods in between your workouts of about 15 to 30 seconds before you start your next rep.

This is how Ashley and a friend of his started their very own HIIT park session which they offered for free. These workout sessions lasted about 20 to 30 minutes and were a great opportunity for people who wanted to work out but never knew where to start.

Ashley’s cousin Michael Mack asked him to become his trainer.  He was on the verge of launching his new production and media hub called Mackworld and he really wanted to get his body back into shape before then.

Michael saw Ashley’s new found passion for fitness and decided to ask him to become the face of Mackfitness, a new fitness segment that he wanted to add to his show and that my dear friends is how it all began.

I have to say I am extremely proud of Ashley for what he has achieved thus far. I too am on a fitness journey of my own and I know firsthand how hard it is to achieve results.  It takes hard work, blood, sweat and sometimes when it comes down to fitness and perseverance and dedication is key.

It’s always good to set yourself goals but what most people don’t realise is that you actually have to work hard to achieve them.

We all know that success doesn’t happen overnight and Ashley is a firm believer that if you keep on grinding and working hard at something the universe will eventually reward you for your efforts.  And he is right, nothing you do is ever done in vain.

For all those people who keep on saying they want to lose weight and never get to a point of doing something about it here is some words of wisdom from the man himself. Put in the work and stop complaining. Stop making excuses. Be the change you want see in yourself and keep on grinding until you get to where you want to be.

Stay true to yourself.
