Liar Liar

Don’t you just hate it when people lie to you?

More specifically when they have the audacity to lie straight to your face.

In today’s world, it is very difficult to lie to anyone when it comes to social media applications like WhatsApp and Facebook messenger.

These days people can see when you are online, when last you were online, if you read the message and if the message was received or not.

Even though everyone knows this, people continue to try to talk themselves out of awkward situations like these:

When you send someone a message and they are online but take forever to reply, which makes you think they chatting to other people and that you are not a priority. This causes a lot of trouble, especially in relationships.

When they are online, they open the message but don’t respond.

You send someone a message and they are online the entire time but as soon as you come online, they go offline and they don’t read your message.

You send a message, get no response but you can see they have been online on numerous occasions but still didn’t open your message. This is a sign of disrespect in my opinion.

Some change their status and their read/receive messages to private. This means people will only be able to see when they are online but not when they were last “seen” online and they will also not be able to see if their messages were read when in fact the message was read.  I call this one shady.

Can someone please tell me when people are going to realise that you cannot lie on social media anymore? People can see everything that you are doing most of the time.

If you don’t want to speak to someone, have the guts and tell them that you don’t want to speak to them. Stop ignoring them and stop being shady. Just tell them the truth. It is the right thing to do.

Stay true to yourself.
