Beauty and the Ghost

Hello my Queens,

Today I am talking about the importance of choosing the correct colour foundation.

Sometimes we find ourselves in awkward situations, like choosing the incorrect colour foundation.  When this happens we either end up looking like we are heavily sunburned (when our foundation is too dark) or like a ghost (when our  foundation is too light).

Many of us have seen this on social media platforms and have fallen victim to this ourselves in some way or another.

When it comes to choosing the correct colour foundation, do yourself a favour and visit your nearest make up professional. Do not try to match it yourself. Stores like Foschini and Edgars offer this service to you. All you have to do is go into the store with a clean face (no make up) and choose a cosmetic brand that you like. Ask the make up professional to match a foundation for you and there you go. It is as simple as that.

Many of us don’t know that the colour of our complexion changes throughout the year. Normally in winter our skin will appear a bit lighter and in summer it will be a bit darker due to the sun rays. In my opinion, it is essential for us to visit a make up professional atleast twice a year.  If you do, you will feel more confident that you are wearing the correct colour foundation and you will remain looking flawless throughout the year.

I use the Mac foundation range and I absolutely love it. More especially the MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15. This foundation has a natural matte finish and has a medium buildable coverage. It has a natural look and it doesn’t make your face look overdone. It also contains SPF 15 which means you can stay in the sun for a certain amount of time without getting sunburned.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 foundation applies to the skin easily and builds and blends evenly. It’s super comfortable on your skin and it is long-wearing too.

This foundation helps hide those unwanted appearances of pores as well as those pimples that we hate so much.

So ladies, my advice to is, go out there and get yourself matched.

Don’t forget to always stay true to yourself.
